County Sligo Golf Club
First Established: 1894
Designed By: Harry Colt
The landscape that County Sligo Golf Club has the privilege of occupying consistently inspired Irish poet W. B. Yeats, and it’s easy to see why, with the course jutting out atop cliffs on three sides, above expansive beaches running alongside the Atlantic Ocean, with the landward landscape being dominated by views of the imposing and spectacular Benbulben mountain nearby.
The golf course itself is no less spectacular, and has been acknowledged as such being voted no. 9 golf course in Ireland by Golf Digest Top 100, voted no. 1 links course in Ireland by IGTOA (Ireland Golf Tour Operator) 2016, and voted no. 1 links course in Connacht by the Golfers Guide 2017.
