Dooks Golf Club
First Established: 1889
Designed By: Eddie Hackett; with re-design by Dr. Martin Hawtree
Dooks Golf Links is abundantly privileged to occupy an absolutely stunning location on the west coast of Ireland, close to the scenic drive known as the Ring of Kerry. The golf course is surrounded on three sides by the picturesque Dingle Peninsula, and enjoys uninterrupted views of the magnificent MacGillycuddy’s Reeks.
Although Dooks is a true, natural links, it possesses that rare phenomenon of being located in a relatively unexposed area, however don’t let that lull you into a false sense that Dooks is any less of a challenge than Waterville, for example. Due to its tight fairways and raised greens, Dooks will soon have you taking your eyes off the scenery and focusing on how you get up and down in two.
Dr. Hawtree’s redesign has not only made the most of the location, through raising tee boxes and greens, and removing vegetation to open up views of the surrounding vista that can be enjoyed at every turn, but has reconstructed no less than 16 holes that you’re sure to delight in.
