Strandhill Golf Club
First Established: 1931
Designed By: John McAlister
Strandhill Golf Club is positioned on the west coast of Ireland, at the foot of Knocknaree mountain, beside a single towering sand dune rising above Strandhill beach and Culleenamore Strand.
The course is certainly no less worthy of your time than the adjacent County Sligo Golf Club and Enniscrone Golf Club, and is described by Tom Coyne, in his book “A Course Called Ireland” as, “Set on the side of a hill with fairways that felt like class-five rapids, the views of the sea and the Sligo mountainscapes were lovely. And the fourteenth hole that played like a hallway, squeezing you along a path between competing dunes, was one of my favorite Irish holes thus far”.
