CS Lewis & Northern Ireland

Born and raised in Belfast, CS Lewis loved what he called his 'Northernness'. From the rugged coastlines of Castlerock and Portrush to the Belfast Docks and the Mountains of Mourne, the striking landscape of Northern Ireland stirred his imagination and inspired the creation of the world of Narnia.

The CS Lewis Festival was a week long festival that celebrated the life of the writer, with events commemorating and exploring the legacy of Lewis and his close links to the city that so inspired much of his work.
